PETERHEAD
couple David and Lynda Buchan have been invited
to an international conference on the paradise
island of Mauritius, after recording top sales
figures for their area only three and a half
years after being declared bankrupt.
The
top Kleeneze distributors will go cruising on
a catamaran, visit the historic Pamplemousse
Gardens which date back to 1735 and enjoy a
Gala Dinner.
It is an amazing turnaround for the couple who
lost everything only three and a half years
ago.
David
explained: "My background is as a fisherman.
I was a fisherman for 11 years until I came
ashore in 1985.
"I
then started a small fish business and had a
fish van in and around Ellon which went fine
until the fishing industry collapsed.
"I
was made bankrupt and with no qualifications
and no other experience I didn't know what to
do.
"My
wife say an advert in the Buchan Observer for
Kleeneze and at first I wasn't interested but
I realised that I needed something and fast
so she arranged for a guy to come and see us.
"When
we were going through the brochure a picture
of John and Hazel Stephen came up. They had
started eight years previously and we thought
if they can do it so can we."
The
couple had a long conversation with John and
decided to keep going and in the first three
weeks of doing just the catalogues they made
just under £1,200.
Since
then David and Lynda, of Bosie's Bank Way, have
never looked back. They now have a team of nine
agents and have been rewarded for their efforts
with all-expenses paid trips to Sydney, Rio
de Janiero and Budapest.
They
are also working towards reaching a level where
they will be given a gift of a brand new BMW.
David said: "It is the very best hotels
and the best trips all paid for by Kleeneze.
In
Rio de Janeiro we stayed in the Copacabana Palace
and Patrick Swayze and Britney Spears were staying
there at the same time.
"They
hired a private island for us as well. It's
top destinations all over the world! In June
we stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Budapest with
nine of our team all paid for by Kleeneze."
Both
David and Lynda are keen to express that success
does not come easily and it takes a lot of hard
work to be as successful as they have been.
Lynda said: "People have to be serious
about changing their lives. It doesn't work
if you don't work for it and you have to put
the effort in. You can't do it by yourself,
it's a team effort."
David
added : "The catalogues give you an instant
income but there is also the team-building side
to the business. We're not just working for
today, we're working for the future."
"We
are helping people change their lives because
it has helped us change ours."
