A
WEB designer who saw his business dry up after
the terrorist attacks in America on September
11 has found success selling cleaning products.
Following the attacks, Seamus Houghton, of Spinney
Close, Thrapston, found that business slowed to
the point where he had to get a part-time job
to supplement his income.

He started selling Kleeneze products and has
recently returned from a four-day all expenses
paid trip to Monte Carlo, which he won for outstanding
sales achievements.
Seamus, 39, said: "It was literally the
day after September 11 that people stopped asking
about my web design business."I looked
around for a part-time job and saw an advert
to sell cleaning products.
I thought I would do it up until Christmas to
keep the family going, but in my first month
with Kleeneze I earned £462 for just ten
hours' work per week and it all went from there."He
said his wife Clare was planning to give up
work as a learning support assistant and join
him in the business.
Their two sons, Michael, 13, and Jamie, 11,
are also interested in joining the business
when they are old enough.Mr Houghton said: "It
could become a real family business but I don't
know whether they will still think it's a good
thing to do when they are old enough.
"I am now spending more time concentrating
on Kleeneze
than my web design business.
I never imagined I would end up doing this but
I prefer being out on the streets talking to
my customers than sat inside on my own with
just the computer."
